Some leaders might consider it useless to plan ahead because everything is unpredictable. Do you think this is a good idea? How much time in advance can people plan to avoid wasting time?
I agree about everything is unpredictable but it doesn’t mean is useless to plan ahead. For me, I consider a plan like a map about what actions you need to take. A plan is no exactly one step by step guide because “everything is unpredictable”, however, it allow you to begin with a solid base related one objective. No plan, no goal.
Moreover, a plan might be flexible and not necessarily have to be rigid, might be slight, might be short, might be fast…, is not limited to strict vision. There are many plans characteristics and depends on your situation, you may select and built it according your needs. Likewise, the time for planning is determinate by your context. Is not the same a plan for buying a new cellphone than a plan for buying a house, so, the time is a variable not a constant.
In summary, to plan ahead might be useful, agil, flexible and may help you to have a full perspective about one topic or goal you have to achieve.
So, my dear Space Cowboy…, what are you waiting to build this plan you have been delaying for long time and make some of yours dreams come true?
Bye.
